Thesis - Law
Although you live your student life at this Department, your Degree Programme belongs to the Department of Law and Political, Economic and Social Sciences (Digspes) and therefore the rules, forms and deadlines are as stated.
PLEASE NOTE: ALL THE DEADLINES AND TERMS SHOWN ARE DEFINITIVE, AND NOT WAIVABLE / EXTENDABLE
STEPS TO FOLLOW FOR GRADUATION:
1) SUBMISSION OF THESIS TITLE
In order to submit the application to graduate, the student must have submitted the thesis title to the Student Admin Office by sending it via the ticketing system to allegati.disei@uniupo.it. The form must be sent only after having obtained the supervisor's signature.
The deadline is:
• at least 6 months before the date set for the viva for the single-cycle master's degree
These are final deadlines: the student can also submit the thesis title well in advance of these. For submission, it is advisable to use the first day of the graduation session as a reference (for example: to graduate in the September session, the title should be filed with the Secretariat by 14 March at the latest).
The appointment of the co-supervisor (s) is made officially on recommendation of the supervisor professor. The student takes no action in this regard.
For the title page and methods of drafting the thesis / final exam, see point 3) DRAFTING AND DELIVERY OF VOLUMES.
2) APPLICATION TO GRADUATE
This does not consist of a single module but several modules (see below).
The submission of the degree application does not constitute automatic and implicit admission to the final viva, as admission is subject to verification by the Student Office of compliance to all requirements.
In order to apply for a degree, the student must have completed all the exams (including seminars, language requirements, IT, internships) which must have been duly recorded on the paper transcript or through VOL. The submission of the application can take place when drafting of the thesis / final exam has reached a good stage, according to evaluation of the supervisor professor.

In either case, the student must deliver receipt of access to the Student Secretariat, which should be printed at the end of the denial or acceptance procedure. The procedure for accessing the questionnaire is: 1) Connect to the Student Portal 2) login 3) Reserved Area 4) Degree 5) Almalaurea Registration.

f. Scan all the above forms and send them to the Student Secretariat by email allegati.disei@uniupo.it
Following receipt of the documentation for the degree application, the Student Office will make the following bulletins available on the student’s personal account for online services ("payments"):
• € 16 revenue stamp relating to the degree application (MANDATORY)
• € 16 revenue stamp relating to the parchment issue (you pay this only once in your university career and it is MANDATORY)
For the purposes of compliance with the deadline for submitting the graduation application, the date of the e-mail sending the forms will be valid if payment of the bills relating to the revenue stamps is made within 5 days following the notice from the Student Secretariat.
THOSE WHO DECIDE TO POSTPONE THE VIVA AFTER SUBMITTING THE DEGREE APPLICATION MUST COMMUNICATE THIS VIA UPO Risponde - Servizio assistenza online. It must be addressed to the Disei Student Admin Office
If they then choose to graduate in the next immediate session, they will have to submit the withdrawal documentation and a subsequent new application, for which a new notice relating to the € 16 revenue stamp will be created by the Office.
If interested in other graduation sessions, they will have to respect the ordinary terms and conditions in the degree calendar.
3) DRAFTING AND DELIVERY OF MANUSCRIPTS
For preparation of the master's degree thesis, click here.
The graduate student, within the deadline indicated for each session in the degree calendar, must submit an original copy of the thesis signed by both Supervisor and candidate to the Student Admin Office

The thesis must be bound:
1. for the Master's degree, in leatherette
A copy of the thesis must be delivered to the supervisor and the co-supervisor (s) by the candidate.
DEGREE SCORE AVERAGE
The average admission to the degree is calculated using the arithmetic method (the number of credits is not considered, but only the exam marks): the sum of the exam marks divided by the number of exams added together. Eligibility is not considered in this calculation.
Any rounding is done by the Exam Board in the phase of assigning the final score.
the score attributable by the Board is up to 7 points in the presence of a single co-supervisor, up to 9 points if a second co-supervisor is also appointed. The Commission can unanimously award a Special Mention or Recommendation for Publication award along with the Honours grading.
