Rules for graduating students
This page offers some tips on how to present the defence of your Thesis.
If you use Powerpoint presentations
- From the session of April 2022 (except for Covid-related variations) it will again be possible to show the Powerpoint presentations on the large screen in the Department (MASTER’S ONLY).
- The presentation must NOT be submitted
- The presentation must be saved in PowerPoint format with filename surname.ppt (e.g. rximario.ppt) on a NEW pendrive, for both the test and the graduation session.
- We do not recommend using heavy animations or fonts that are not standard versions, in order to avoid display problems (the PCs used may be different).

If you are using OTP:
- It is not necessary to bring transparencies. Normal prints (even black / white) in A4 format, landscape orientation, are sufficient.
- We still recommend the PowerPoint presentation which is qualitatively better for screening.
The day of the viva voce
- Once on the podium, you will need to close the previous candidate's presentation if it is still open.
- If the screen is black, just press ESC to return to PowerPoint.
- Insert your pendrive
- Open your presentation
- Press F5 for fullscreen and manage the presentation yourself.
- When finished, close the presentation and disconnect the pendrive correctly
- The microphone is always on, all you need to do is adjust its height.
