Remote access to E-resources

Access from home to electronic resources is enabled either through VPN (Virtual Private Network) or through authentication via IDEM-GARR.

 How to access library resources from home via IDEM-GARR

The resources that allow access via IDEM- GARR present a first screen asking you to choose the institution to which you belong (then remaining highlighted in subsequent accesses). By clicking on the appropriate option, the section for entering your institutional credentials appears.

To access via IDEM-GARR it is not necessary to install any plug-in.

How to access library resources from home with Biblio VPN and Pulse Secure client

Instructions for desktop/laptop PC:

If possible, use the FireFox browser (https://www.mozilla.org/it/firefox). From the URL https://ssl.unipmn.it/biblio enter your credentials (for students, the email used as Username must be in the form: enrolment number@studenti.uniupo.it ). From the next screen, download the Pulse Secure client

Once the client has been installed, click on + Add connection and enter in the Name field: biblio and in the URL Server field: ssl.unipmn.it/biblio and click on Connect

The client will ask you to enter your credentials again and then click on Connect (if you select Save settings, working on your computer, the client will recognise the user for subsequent connections allowing you to simply open the client page and click on Connect).

After connecting, you can go to the Databases page to consult the databases or the Catalogue of periodicals of the library to search for the journals online and download the articles.

For subsequent access, simply click on Connect of the Pulse Secure client.

Instructions for smartphone or tablet:

Download the appropriate Pulse Secure app version from Google Play Store or App Store and install. Open the app and enter in the field "Enter the company email address or the URL provided by the company": ssl.unipmn.it/biblio. Click on SEND and complete the field "Connection name: biblio", in the URL leave ssl.unipmn.it/biblio; leave the other fields empty. Click on ADD and then on CONNECT. Enter with your credentials.

The Economy VPN is also available for teachers and technical staff. To connect to the latter, simply add another connection in the Pulse Secure client by clicking on + Add connection and enter in the Name field: VPN Uniupo and in the Server URL field: ssl.unipmn.it/eco and click on Save.
