The course
The Business Administration and Human Resource Management course intends to provide the skills and tools necessary to deal with business problems from an integrated and systemic perspective, typical of a company management aimed at managing continuous change by seizing its opportunities and facing threats. Furthermore, it intends to transfer the knowledge and tools to correctly interpret the meaning of "business sustainability" and to manage corporate sustainability in an ethical and transparent way.
At the end of the training course, all students will:
- possess in-depth knowledge of business economics, general economics, mathematics/statistics and law, but also psychology and sociology concepts in order to correctly identify and resolve business problems
- know how to adopt appropriate analysis criteria and methods of intervention in an international, intercultural perspective taking into consideration gender differences
- acquire and know how to appropriately apply the methodologies useful for qualifying professionally both in the administration and governance of companies, and in freelance professions in the economic sector, and in the selection and management of human resources in a constantly evolving environment, which is characterised by frequent shocks.
The master's degree course in Business Administration and Human Resource Management is part of category LM-77. It presents training objectives and offers specific and different job opportunities compared to the other degree courses included in the educational offer of the Departments and the University, and represents a natural continuation of the three-year degree course in Business Administration.
It is aimed at developing the knowledge and skills necessary for carrying out both corporate activities, in the following roles: administration, planning, programming and management control; internal control, corporate risk management and related business sustainability; finance, corporate and labour organisation; strategy and communication, information systems; as well as professional activities related to strategic consultancy, administrative consultancy in the broadest sense, fiscal, organisational, labour, and statutory auditing for companies, whatever their legal form and sector, public companies and institutions.
In addition to pursuing the educational objectives of the LM-77 category, the Master’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management, aims to provide advanced level training aimed at responding to the needs expressed by stakeholders in the economic system, whether they are professional firms or companies with a local, national and international vocation. To this end, it intends to provide students with the tools necessary to develop a systemic vision of the company and the changing "environment" in which it operates; it also has the further purpose of developing a critical and ethical conscience in dealing with changing "managerial problems" in a dynamic context characterised by increasing complexity.
It also aims to develop and consolidate an analytical and critical approach, suitable for identifying and using, among the management tools provided, those that best respond to the idea of a management to be carried out with strategic awareness.These objectives and tools will be pursued in a perspective of systemic vision of the company and with the priority aim of appropriately measuring the environmental, social and governance impacts, in addition to economic and financial impact.
At the end of the training course, all graduates will:

The Master’s degree in Business Administration and Human Resource Management is divided into a series of courses entrusted to professors of the Department of Economics and Business Studies with solid research experience (proven by monographic publications, articles and essays in national and international journals) and operational experience in the disciplines characterising the category of the degree course itself, as well as experts with solid experience in the labour market.
Key features
The second year is mainly aimed at refining professional and strategic economic-business skills, as well as providing a significant combination of study and operational skills through internships and research work related to preparation of the master's degree thesis.
Employment opportunities
The master's degree course in Business Administration and Human Resource Management aims to train professionals capable of carrying out qualified activities in the administration and management of companies and personnel, and of operating in positions of high responsibility in various managerial fields.
Students will be able to: acquire important roles in management, administrative and accounting consultancy, and company positions relating to administration and auditing, finance and management and development of human resources; freelance chartered accountant (after an internship, according to the provisions of the law envisaged for access to the professional register); apply for managerial roles, including top management. These roles can include the following:
Freelance positions (Chartered Accountant, Auditor, Labour Consultant, Business Consultant): roles of business, tax, financial, strategic, labour, company auditing consultancy, with specific skills in administration, management planning and control and consultancy economic-legal-accounting; managerial positions, financial analysts, specialists in management, commercial and banking sciences: roles of organisation, planning and control, administration, risk management, internal auditing, finance, marketing, business development, management and development of human resources, with managerial and financial skills and control of companies, administrative-accounting, and management and development of human resources. Managerial positions, combined with the experience that must necessarily be acquired in the field, can become top management roles (Chief Executive Officer, General Manager, Administrative Director, Commercial Director, Human Resources Director, Organisation and Information Systems Director, etc.)
The course allows access to the qualifying exam for the following regulated professions: chartered accountant, external auditor, labour consultant.
A further outlet is represented by further studies in the form of 1st and 2nd level university master's courses and PhD studies.
