Brief overview of course
The degree course aims to create expert professionals in the fields of Administration, Finance, Control, Human Resources Management and Marketing. It is also aimed at developing the knowledge and skills necessary for carrying out professional activities in companies, banks and other financial institutions, public and non-profit companies, public administration, auditing and management consulting firms, as well as the development of knowledge necessary for the roles of accountant and statutory auditor. It aims to prepare business economists who can understand the functioning of the economic system as a whole as well as the interaction between firms, firms and markets and between economic policy interventions and decisions by businesses. The course aims to guarantee students:
- methods of analysis and critical interpretation of the structures and dynamics of corporate management, through acquisition of the necessary skills relating to several disciplinary areas: business, economic, legal and quantitative
- methods of analysis and critical interpretation of the economic system as a whole and of its financial structure
- adequate knowledge of business disciplines, the fundamental core of this course, broken down into functional areas and classes of companies in the various sectors
- mindset and awareness necessary to cover managerial positions consistent with the professional skills / specialisations required by the world of work.
Educational goals
The degree course in Business Economics responds to the explicit request of local economic operators to create expert professionals in the field of Administration, Finance and Control. Through the programme, the student will acquire knowledge of various business functions, of management tools and analysis, while learning to understand the interaction between business and the environment.
The specific training needs that students of the course will need are:
- mindset and awareness necessary to cover managerial positions consistent with the professional skills / specialisations required by the world of work
- adequate knowledge of business disciplines, the fundamental core of this course, broken down into functional areas and classes of companies in the various sectors
- methods of analysis and critical interpretation of the economic system as a whole
- methods of analysis and critical interpretation of the structures and dynamics of corporate management, through the acquisition of necessary skills pertaining to several disciplinary areas: business, economic, legal and quantitative.
For the aforementioned purposes, the degree course offers two learning areas: the first, more general, is designed to equip the student with knowledge in the economic, quantitative and legal fields, which are essential for correctly approaching the study of companies and their decisions. The second, more specific, is aimed at developing the typical business skills of those who work in companies, in the various functional areas of management, and the roles of accounting professionals.

Positions in financial, commercial, industrial, net economy and service companies, in the functional areas of marketing, finance, administration, management control, organization and personnel management.
Positions in research departments and centres; professional consultancy activities; positions in public institutions and companies with a particular focus on the local public services sector and the cultural heritage sector; internal positions in non-profit institutions and international organisations; entrepreneurial and consultancy activities in various sectors including those relating to art and culture; professions of accountant and statutory auditor, subject to internship and according to the provisions of law for access to professional registers.
